1. Contact enquiry data

eLand, Lda is responsible for processing enquiries received at buy@food.pt. Data may include your name, email address, company or project, comments and acknowledgement of the Terms and this Policy.

Your name and email address are required to send a request; company details and comments are optional. Avoid including sensitive data or unnecessary information about other people.

While you fill in the form, your details remain on the page. Pressing “Send request” transmits them over HTTPS to the Netlify function for validation and delivery through eLand, Lda’s email server to buy@food.pt. The message includes the reading acknowledgement and document version. The application does not create a contact database or log the content of enquiries.

2. Purposes and legal basis

Received enquiries are used to respond to questions about Food.pt and follow up on a possible acquisition. Where a request concerns an acquisition, processing is based on taking pre-contractual steps requested by the interested person.

Legal obligations may require certain records to be retained. Technical security and continuity may involve processing necessary for legitimate interests in protecting the service, balanced against individuals’ rights.

Contacting us does not subscribe you to marketing. Permission to remember your language is separate, optional and can be withdrawn at any time.

  • European Data Protection Board guidance on lawful processing

3. Services and recipients

Enquiries are accessible to eLand, Lda and people who need them to respond or follow up on negotiations. Netlify hosts the website and runs the sending function; eLand, Lda’s email server sends and receives messages. Netlify may process technical data, such as IP addresses and security logs, to deliver the service and limit abusive requests.

Hosting and email providers may operate in different countries. Their processing is subject to their terms and policies; where international transfers are involved, safeguards required by data protection law apply. You can request information about processing related to your enquiry at buy@food.pt.

4. Retention

Messages are retained for as long as needed to answer the enquiry and follow up on negotiations. Once no longer needed for those purposes, they should be deleted unless retention is justified by a legal obligation or the defence of rights, for the applicable period.

Form fields are not saved in the website’s local storage. Cookie choices are valid for 180 days; the language preference remains only while that permission is valid.

5. Cookies and local storage

The website uses browser local storage, a technology similar to cookies. “food-cookie-preferences” records whether you allow or reject preferences, together with the date and expiry of that decision. It is necessary to respect your choice and remains valid for 180 days.

“food-language” remembers Portuguese or English only when you allow preferences. Without permission, you can still browse and switch languages; the website does not remember your selection. Rejecting preferences or expiry of the decision deletes the saved language.

This website has no sign-in area and does not include advertising or visitor analytics tools.

You can choose essential storage only, allow the language preference or customize your choice in the initial notice. You can withdraw permission just as easily through “Cookie settings” in the footer. If your browser blocks storage, you may be asked again.

  • CNPD information about consent

6. Your rights

Depending on the circumstances and legal requirements, you may exercise rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability. Contact buy@food.pt to make a request or ask a question. Proportionate information may be needed to confirm your identity.

You may also lodge a complaint with Portugal’s data protection authority, the CNPD. Withdrawing permission does not affect the lawfulness of processing previously based on it.

7. Updates

This Policy describes the current version of the website. Relevant changes to purposes or technologies should be reflected here and, where necessary, accompanied by a new user choice. The date on this page identifies the current version.
